How to wear a helmet and headphones at the same time? Answered

I've looked around, and I can't find headphone-compatible skatehelmets anywhere. Looking around for an instructable wasn't a succes either.
Now I thought that if I couldn't get it into my helmet, why not mod my headphones into a neck-hanging-on-your-ears headphone.

Do you guys have any ideas on what I could do?

Note: I dislike earbuds, to say the least, so they are not an option.

How about a pair that go around the back of your head. I've go a pair that I could wear with my bike helmet but I don't know if your skate helmet goes down too far or not.

My helmet doesn't go that far down, actually, so that might work, but I just wonder if I could mod my present headphones into a go-around-the-back pair. Couldn't find an instructable on that one, unfortunately.

Most helmet companies would love the market, but can't afford the liability. It's well known that using a helmet during any transit-possible action (like biking, blading, skateboarding) you need your full senses to avoid those multi-tonne chunks of metal with engines that tend to kill pedestrians when they get in fights. You'll have a hard time finding one that obscures your senses intentionally.

Hmm, too bad they have to pay liability for it. Most skaters wearing helmets skate in parks, halfpipes and verts, so I wouldn't see the traffic problem. Except for if drivers get lost badly.

Most but not all -- I see a lot of skaters using their boards (or bikes, or blades) to commute...in traffic.

I may be in a minority here but I like these ... .............................. Giro Bad Lieutenant Audio Series Snow Helmet (Black)................... .................Offering military styling, this snowboard helmet features speakers built into removable earpads, that plug into nearly any MP3 player, radio, CD player, or cell phone....................... Removable, injection-molded earflaps lock directly into the liner, which can be removed for washing. ...................... ..................... If you don't buy one of these and don't mind looking silly you could just copy the flap design; failing that, can you not just take apart some small headphones (not earbuds) and glue them to the inside/outside of the helmet? ................................................. ( Stupid text editor.)

I've been to a wintersport store and I've looked at the helmets, but they're all just too warm. But I've considered trying to imitate those, indeed.

Motorola makes a headset, the S805 bluetooth, which has detachable earpieces that can be retrofitted into a helmet. I know that one mfg designs a bike helmet specifically built to receive the s805, and I believe there is also a compatible hardhat made to receive the earpieces, but I don't know of a skatehelmet mfg who does.
