How useful is a fully functioning dishwasher (except the start button) in terms of components? Revised! Answered

Specifically i want to know how useful the motor is. I want to be able to utilize it for a motorized long
board.

EDIT
Part 2: If i don't manage to fix the dishwasher (the people i'm picking it up from tomorrow say that they tried to use a time cycle and it error'd part of the way through it so there might be more wrong with it) what types of things could i make out of those components?

It would work really well.

Right up to the point where you ran out of extension cable - it will be an AC motor, no good for batteries.

If all that is wrong is the start button, you'd be far better off fixing the button, selling the dishwasher and using the cash to buy the exact motor you need.

Right arm.

It's a perfectly useful motor, but not for this application.

.  In addition the the motor, there is a water pump, a heating element, a timer, some thermal insulation, and a bit of recyclable steel. You can probably figure out some use for the racks.
.  As others have pointed out, the motor is not the best option for a skateboard. It's fairly large and heavy (by skateboard standards) and 110/220 VAC could be dangerous in your situation.
.  I think Kiteman has the right idea - fix the start button, sell the dishwasher, and buy the motor you need.

Would this motor be useful in building a wind turbine?

.  Not without some modifications. The easiest motors to use as generators have permanent magnets.

Agreed:  Sell it and use the money to buy the correct parts for your longboard project.
