A rope can help you exercise very well to reduce your weight very quickly and burning out fats .

 Which is your limit: time, price or space?  Which is your goal: strength endurance, maximal tension ("tone") or body mass?  Ask your librarian about inter-library loans and check out "The Naked Warrior" and "Power to the People!" by Pavel Tsatsouline for great tension exercises, or crossfit.com for endurance/ Vo2MAX stuff.  Lots of their workouts don't take much equipment, or else you can usually find enough at the park.  I'll post some instructables soon for an adjustable weight set for deadlifting made from concrete, and there's already one for making a kettlebell from the same (I'll probably post a duplicate one since my process is different). Happy lifting.

If you dont want too go too heavy on the weights but just want  to get a good muscle tone use two plastic water bottles (filled with water). These can be used for bicep curls, overhead press, lateral arm raises. You can even hold them to your chest and perform situps for added resistence.

you can also try pullups... they primarily target your back and the front of your amrs. you can use the bottoms of girders if you have a basement without a ceiling, although this can hurt your fingers. monkey bars would be better.

over all, calisthenics are a great option if you don't have access to a gym or a lot of exercise equipment.

Gallon jugs filled with water make pretty good substitutes for dumbbells. I have also used a big hunk of rebar in a sword-form workout. Made transitioning to a regular-weight sword really easy.
If you have access to a bicycle, you can use it as, well, a bicycle.

SHHHSH!
Anything heavy can be used for weights, furniture can be used to keep your feet down while doing sit-ups / crunches.
But a lot of exercise doesn't require equipment.

Push-Ups on the floor; Sit-Ups with feet under the sofa; Running.

Do you have anything mildly heavy that you lift as a dumbbell?
