I wanna frequency converter transformer ? Answered

Hi Everyone

I wanna to know where can i get frequency converter transformer that it's input is 2 wire (220v-50hz) and it's output is 3 wire where the voltage between any wire and com. is 110v and between the two wires is 220v

frequency conversion is usually (afaik) executed using traditional means (see iceng answer) or by "tracking" loop tricks (track input freq and use an error signal with an offset to force desired output frequency)

Can you elaborate on what you want? A simple transformer cannot convert single phase power into 3 phase power, if that is what you want. Also, transformers cannot directly change the frequency by themselves.

Do you mean a center tapped transformer, and you can use the center tap on the secondary as your common, then the voltage on either outer tap will be +-120V and of course will be 180* out of phase or inverted, leading to 220V between them.

If that is what you want than search around for a 220V center tapped to 110V transformer, or a 110V to 220V center tapped transformer. You should find something.

That's VOLTAGE conversion, you can't do frequency conversion with a transformer. What you want is called an isolation transformer, they can be bought easily depending on the current rating you need, and where you are in the world.
