I won a pro membership, but I can't find it? Answered

My pro membership is about to expire, and I looked at my account because I've earned a couple of free memberships, and I wanted to activate them. I see one I got for having a featured instructable or something (3 mos) but I'm pretty sure I won a free 1 yr membership when I won a contest this summer, but I don't see anything in my account about that. Please help?



I think ibles staff is still trying to refine the process on how to hand out the 1-yr pro membership awards. The 3-months are automatic with PM and show up in the membership tab, the 1-yr does not. Sometimes they forget to stuff in the prize pack the printed membership code certificate and other times they will PM the membership code. The last time, for the Halloween contest, I received the prizes but no membership code printout nor PM. I PM'ed the staff and what they are doing now is automatically adding the 1-year membership to the winners. I do not know if they get a PM that tells them it has been done or assumes you will notice when you log back in. For members that are already PRO, they will extend the PRO membership for one year when the current membership period ends. You do not get notified that they will be doing this and it does not seem to be applied immediately. I guess I will need to wait a month when my membership is up to see if they automatically renew or if I have to kick nudge someone.  I'm sure others are also in the same boat.

Interesting, I was wondering about that since I won a couple of 1yr pros but never got anything either (pm'd or packed with the prize). I would prefer the coupon code since I would like to give them away.

If you get awarded a free batch of pro-ness, you should get an email about it, and details of your wins should be in your profile.

(Go to www.instructables.com/you, and click the Pro Membership tab. There should be a list of any owed pro-ness, and the dates they will start.)

When she wrote, "I see one I got for having a featured instructable..." I thought that was what she did to see it. Hence my suggestion to contact Staff.


That's what I get for trying to post on the forums at the same time as tidying up several projects at once...

You might also send email to <service{at}instructables.com>, in case this forum topic doesn't get noticed.

Do you keep your old e-mails? You should have gotten a notificiation of your contest win that way, as well, which could help you track it down before staff gets back to you.
