If you have aluminum foil and an aluminum block which would melt first at melting point? Answered

I want to know because I have always wondered this. May the electromagnetic force be with you lol.

The foil of course. The foil will reach melting point before the heat could fully penetrate the block and fully melt it. It's no different then setting fire to a piece of paper and a wood block.

In principle they both have the same melting point

IF you raised the temperature very slowly so that the block warms at the same rate as the foil they will both melt at the same point

HOWEVER thermal inertia will make this very hard to achieve as close to melting the block will still warm faster then the foil.
