I, Skunkbait, am a Moron! Answered

Ok, I'm not really a big "chat guy". Occasionally I have to look up acronyms to know what you kids are saying. I know LOL, WTF, STFU, and IMHO, but a few others just go over my head. So today I looked up FTW. You have to understand, that even though I am a pretty conservative Christian, I'm hardly "sheltered". Basically, I come from a biker background, and amoung us folks FTW means.... Well, you know. ANyway, When I saw Adrian Monk (usually such a good girl) use the acronym FTW the other day, I was dissapointed with her. I thought she needed her mouth....uh keyboard washed out with soap! ANyway, I looked it up and now I know better. Sorry I ever doubted your squeaky clean image Adrian!

That's a good one. I finally learned to look up acronyms before judging those who were using them!

Someone did once ask me whether it stood for "f*** the what?", which he said in an over-the-top 70s blaxploitation voice and made me crack up in the middle of the street...

Of course you could say "I hate kittens!", or "Hitler's not all that bad." in an over-the-top blaxploitation voice and it would still be funny.

I edited the title to let people know exactly who the moron is. But your spelling, "For Teh Win", means I'm not alone :-)

lolz, don't feel bad. When Bumpus first said "GF7UP" I though he meant "Go F*** 7up" instead of Guyfrom7up, lol

Yeah, it is probably just as easy and more clear (if you don't mind) to abbreviate thusly: Guy! :-)

Hmm, I though FTW in biker terms is "Forever Two Wheels" I already knew what FTW is on the net. :D

Yeah, I've been around bikes and bikers like...forever. I used to hear the (not so nice) FTW saying amoung the post-punk/pre-grunge/thrasher kids I hung out with in the late 80's

Hey, we all have bad days, but it was out of context too. I think it had something to do with SPongebob! That's why I was so perplexed.

Like I said, I'm sorry I ever doubted you! I should have known better. At least it got me to finally look it up. It's funny, there was a story about the old foul-mouthed cowboys. They'd never curse during a thunderstorm. THey figured that if God was tossing lightning bolts, there's no sense in making yourself a special target!

No worries. Internet speak is weird sometimes. Especially when used in real life. I love telling my coworkers when they're having a bad day that they could just tell the customers to "STFU and GTFO!" because it's not like they'd get it anyway. :D
