Instructable was featured but never appeared on the home page Answered

I published an instructable yesterday (https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-fix-earbuds-that-have-lost-their-rubber/) and received an email saying that it had been featured. It has the little "featured!" Banner over the icon, too. But it never appeared on the home page. I checked "explore --> featured", and found five or so instructables that were featured around the time mine was that never appeared on the home page, either.

I don't know if is is an actual bug, or if things are just done differently now. I just thought I would mention it. :p

There are currently two different features: the category feature and the homepage feature, meaning not all featured projects appear on the homepage as well.

Ohh, okay. I had never gotten a category feature before so I didn't know there was a difference. Thanks! :D

It's both an old and a new feature. They did it that was a few years back and somewhere along the line abandoned it to feature everything to the homepage. Recently some were disapointed by the quality of the ibles on the homepage so it was brought back.

No, it is rather a new feature but an old idea -the previous "homepage feature" would have your 'ible on the rotating carousel until the next one came along - the old one was far harder to get too.

You can tell the difference between the homepage and category features that emilvanleemput is talking about by looking closely at the email you receive. It will either say it was featured to the homepage or "look for it in the ____ category."
