Instructables Internship - Day 5 Answered

Today was my last day! I really wish I could stay, but school should come first...

The day was really awesome though. I knew I had to make the most of this last day I get to be here. I bore the Robot proudly on my chest, hoping to get a picture that I could use as my avatar here, but never remembered to take a picture...

I came in today, and started working on my Vorbis player. The day before, it was all soldered up (I actually was able to do it!) and now I needed to get it working. Based on some probing, at least the voltage regulator part works, but I think I need to do a bit more to determine if its in complete working condition. I also spent some time trying to program an AVR, I eventually got it working, though.

I continued to do some more DB stuff, and, as you saw, posted a few statistics. I came up with a few more, but we couldn't figure out how to get them to display...

---

It was really sad when I had to leave, I had such a great time... I'll miss being there...

Just a general point of information -

The universal law of Karma (enforced by the Karma Chameleon*) will ensure that all members lucky enough to get an internship at the Tower will also get poked, several times, with something pointy on behalf of all members who live half a planet away.

*sorry

On your behalf Kiteman, I will poke Zach the next time I see him. :)

Thank you - remember, use something pointy, and he needs at least one poke for every member outside the USA...

That's a lot of pokes! Watch out Zach...

By the way, Marc has poked me twice, but neither time was with a sharp object, and I poked him back 3 times.

Just you wait, I'm working on a master plan to poke him with many many many sharp objects all at once but finding all those sharp objects is not as easy as it sounds. So far I have:
  • Pins
  • Needles
  • Nails
  • Drill bits
  • Scissors
  • Leathermans (or would it be Leathermen?)
  • Pens, Pencils, and Quills
If you can think of any others, feel free to post them.

Damn, I forgot...

Hee hee...these are even more entertaining if you read them with a cat flopped across your lap. *rubs a fuzzy kitty tummy*

Just curious zach, are you in college or high school? Sounds like you had a good time helping out!

I'm in high-school, but if you want, we can pretend that I'm in college ;-)

Haha nice. Hey just wondering, how did you get involved with Java? I am taking an AP Computer Science course my junior year (next year) and it is Java based. Did you teach yourself?

I'm not involved with Java... (although I can read the code, I can't program it)

However, I taught myself all of the programming languages that I know...

And as GorillazMiko said, I am just a genius :P

That sucks how you have to leave.
I hope you had a lot of fun Zach.

Sounds great.
Hopefully you will intern again. ;-)

Time to go find Day 4.

you said on day 3, zach, that we would get one for day four, but it is mysteriously absent...

I am not a compulsive liar!

okay, maybe I am...

It is! I have to go back to school!
Although, I have another trip coming up, FIRST competition next weekend!

Yay! I'm missed! And you're up late!
