Instructables on the BBC. Answered

"We are all makers and hackers"

So declares the BBC headline published today.

Make, sites like Instructables.com and video shows such as Systm strive to break projects down into manageable chunks to show people how easy it can be to create stuff.

You can read the full article and see video from the Newcastle Maker Faire at the link below, as well as a PDF file on making your own Multitouch display.

There is also the option to add your own comments.

Please, sensible stuff only - the comments are moderated, so "W00t Instructables" would waste time, and not actually appear on the website.

Nicely done article.

ibles has something the other guys dont as well- knex. its #1 for knex guns and such.

Yeah, well....nothing is perfect LOL j/k ;-)

And that is a good thing why? Some of us prefer I'bles.....Knex-Free.

it gives us variety, and makes us more than just modders/haxors.

As much as i hate to say it, I defenitely agree with you on that. Knex does give instructables some variety. When you go to "Random instructable" its good to see an instructable on Leds, Knex, Green, Computer modding, Guns, Bombs, food etc etc. But what i do hate is when you click "random" half the page is knex... The knex forum is the 3rd biggest forum on instructables. Community Blog->Square Pegs->Knex->LIFE. Seriously. LIFE IS SMALLER THAN KNEX? We're doomed.

lulz, knex forum only gets trumped by tech and community blog.

I'm not a modder nor am I a haxor. There are lots of good I'bles (like real weaponry ones) that doesn't involved modding or hacking that's, IMO, a million times better than knex stuff (Don't get ticked off, I clearly said IMO)

Bump - this slid away in the night.

I wish I could just "bump" and get my snake back.

The filename of that image is "_45597578_make-make226.jpg", and the alt-text is "Soldering at the Maker Faire," so I'm guessing it's not just a stock image. No idea who it is, though.
