 yeah methinks the same way

Basic earbuds are pretty darned universally available for lunch money, and are a LOT easier to buy than build.

well of course but all of mine blow up on me all the time and i need a durable pair

If they're blowing up, you're running them MUCH too hot and are damaging your hearing. I don't expect to be able to talk you out of this, but you *will* regret it.

not BLOWING up but more or less crapping out on me

If they're dying rapidly and frequently, you're either getting excessively cheap units or you're abusing them. Either should be correctable.

the normal life for my earphones is about 6 to 9 months but i use them for my band gigs and stuff like that too

Dollar stores will have ear buds.  There's no way you can make your own for $1!

i never said i wanted to make my own for a dollar I live in a small town that does not have a dollar store and I just wanted to see if I could make some really good durable ones for a realativley good price

Oh!  Well in that case you may want to wait until you can find some on sale somewhere, then reinforce them using this method.  Maybe the next time you're in a larger city you can get everything you need.

indeed thank you BTW your attitude was ok i did not find it offensive

 Cottonballs.

Oh, whoops, sorry, I was thinking about earplugs...

No, stereo-headphones bits of rubber.

You can get a cheap set of ear buds for a dollar or so at any Dollar store. If you have a damaged pair, crack open both pair and transplant the good bits into the cheapies. Or, just use the $1 pair until you are in a position to get a good set.

oh yeah i never thought of that the only prob is that i really suck with electronics

It doesn't require any knowledge of electronics, other than maybe a bit of soldering.  Otherwise, just a dab of glue to hold it all together when you put it back together.
