I've never been able to upload images. Answered

I can upload images, but they don't seem to store anywhere.
The only time it has worked, I accidently uploaded a dumb picture as my avatar when I didn't want one. All I did was upload and suddenly, dumb avatar. I couldn't get rid of it, so uploaded another barely acceptable pic in it's place.
I can't put anything in my library, or find any standard patch pictures anywhere. Is it me or my software, or a bug?

Windows XP Professional V2002 Service pack 3.
IE 7.

You might want to switch to Firefox, but it works (if it does) like this:
https://www.instructables.com/upload
>Click the grey Browse button lower-right
>Select the image file, click open
>Click the orange upload button and wait.

Or

https://www.instructables.com/upload
>Click Try the new uploader link (in orange)
>Wait
>Click the orange Choose files button.
>Select the image file, or hold CTRL and select multiples, click open
>Click the orange upload button and wait.

I can upload stuff, but I can't seem to keep it there. I reckon Firefox would probably solve all my bugs.

It might do, you can install it and use either browser but one will be the default application for stuff on your machine.
The download is in the first link I posted.

Just installed Firefox. Haven't fully checked it out yet, but decided to try and upload an image. Found 78 images in my library (about 60 of the same image) from my previous upload attempts.

Now to check what else is fixed.

Thanks again.

If you click on YOU menu item, you should be able to find the link to your image library or the image library tab when you SUBMIT an image. You can access your uploaded images there. Instructables site is optimized for Firefox browser and I have switched(have it installed since it runs 95% of the stuff built for IE). Image uploading is tough to do without that image uploader"beta test" widget which seems to only work in Firefox for me. The standard image upload interface seems slow in IE and you have to really wait for it to get going, don't really know if it is working or not, selecting files is a chore. Anyway, best bet is to install the free Firefox browser. Good luck.

Yeah, nothing works. I've tried your suggestions, and I can't find any files. Even the site patch library asks for a file name so it can search. How would I know the file name? When I look in my library it asks for a file name, which I know, but the search reveals nothing.
I initially wanted to add images to my profile page so that anyone that cared to look could see them, but this is how I got the dumb avatar. I wanted the images to appear under the profile image as so many others have done, but the images just become  the avatar, which I can't change because there is no image library. When I try to "add image" it becomes a new avatar.
I can't attach images to any comments, questions or answers. they upload, they appear in the preview and disappear when I post.
I can't even upload or send a patch.
