LED Throwie Bop Answered

I've been a Masters student for the past two years and recently decided on a topic that investigates alternate/awkward styles of presenting DIY tutorials (If you're curious what this means, let me know and I'll give you a bit more information). I guess working at Make Magazine and Instructables for 6 or 7 years made an impact.

For my first foray into this I decided to make a tutorial based song, and LED Throwies seemed the easiest thing to do it on. I'd love to hear what you may think, and if anyone is interested, I'd be glad to show you what other methods I come up with as I think of them.

You can listen to the song here, and if you're curious about how we came up with that, you can check out the making of in the previous podcast.

Lyrics:
Hey Ho, Let’s Throw x4
First you grab your batteries
Then you grab your LEDs
Magnet, Tape, Accessories
The LED Bop

The anode to the plus bit
The cathode on the alternate
Then tape it to your magnet
The LED Bop

Hey Ho, Let’s Throw
Toss them in the air now
Where they land, I don’t know
They’re all charged up and ready to throw

Repeat x3

Welcome back to ibles, where everyone knows your name...

Could you print out the illustrated lyrics? Did you know if you play that backwards, you get a completely different message?

I guess this is along the lines of Schoolhouse Rock...Maker Punk Rock. You need a video to go along with it. Complicated things would have to be simplified a lot to squeeze it into a normal 2-3 minute long song. Maybe use another genre like country and see how that works out...-twang-Hitting my hammer in all the wrong places, hoping there be a lasercutter in so many spaces...

Hah! I'm always around...Just usually lurking, checking out new ibles, and work keeps me too busy most of the time. Thank you for the suggestion with the lyrics, I added them here and on my site.

I was planning on doing more songs, but this one took too long to produce as I know nothing about music, so it got nixed in lieu of other styles of instruction. So I'm just going to to do as many different awkward versions of instructions as I can come up with/have time for.

The video would be awesome...and we have talked about it, but given how much time the song took, I don't think it's very likely. Also, you need to make that country song, you have two lines and it's already awesome!
