LED on/off switch? Answered

I'm looking for an instructable that would point me in the direction of how to make an led red/green light for when my roomate is allowed to come in (Socks are no longer working)

Battery to SPDT switch. One side of the switch sends the power to the Red the other to the Green. Pretty simple really. Look up any basic electronics site/video showing how to turn on an LED.

This is a simpler Green / Red circuit ....

Only needs a Single-Pole-Single-Throw switch ... ie close open switch.

It works because the forward drop of the Red LED a volt less then the Green LED and robs the current from the green led.

In your case size the resistor for the Red LED which will dim the Green LED.

If the sock isn't working neither will the LED!!

I recommend a door lock.

Unfortunately we live in the same room! He doesn't get social cues so I'm hoping a big red light will help
