LED's for puck lights Answered

Hi. I purchased some leds for my puck lights but when I install all 3 they just flash but won't stay on. If I leave 1 standard bulb in with 2 leds then the arrangement works. Does any one know what is going on and is there a fix for it such as a resistor [ which I don't have alot of knowledge on] please help.
Thanks in advance

"puck lights" ???

Are these automotive lights ?

No they are lights that you can use for under cabinet lighting, they come 3 to a package and are run off of a 120 v to 12v power

AH, but these were halogens, right ?

In that case, find someway of putting a couple of 10W, 16 Ohm resistors in PARALLEL with the light power. Basically, the power supply needs SOME load, and the LEDs aren't enough on their own. There's a vague chance one resistor imight be enough.

Bear in mind the resistor will run HOT.

ok thanks. When you say parallel do you mean 2 resistors end to end on one of the wires feeding the light sockets. I'm kind of new to this resistor stuff

No, put them ACROSS the wires. You have described SERIES connection.
