Looking for a way to join 3 strands of cord Any suggestions? Answered

I'm looking for a way to join 3 strands of cord. It doesn't have to be simple (I'm good with knots.) I just need a way to join 3 strands of cord. Any suggestions?

If you mean join end to end, then I suggest a sheet bend. But other bends will work, too. figure 8 follow thru is nice if you'll need to undo it easily. Google images for help on these.

Why not try braiding?

Why not just tie all three in a simple overhand knot?

Or, if you want something flatter, lay all three cords pointing like a Mercedes badge. Mentally number them, 1-2-3.

> Tie the end of 1 in an overhand knot around 2.
> Tie the end of 2 in an overhand knot around 3.
> Tie the end of 3 in an overhand knot around 1.

That will make a triangle of strings, and when you pull them all tight, it should make a flat triangular knot in the centre.
