Middle Clicking to Open in New Tab (not working) Answered

I think this has something to do with the way Instructables is coded, and I'm not sure if it's avoidable without significant rewriting (I'm not experienced with web coding), but I've noticed that when I use the middle click on my mouse which is set to "open in new tab," Instructables will open the link or project upon which I'm clicking in the same tab, but I can still right-click and select "open link in new tab" and everything will work fine.  I'm running Google Chrome 17.0.963.56 on Mac OS X 10.6.8.  Just a minor problem, really, but something I've noticed recently and wanted to address.

Works for me, I'm running the same version of Chrome as you are.
The only page the middle button doesn't work on is the home page. Are you sure you've got your mouse configured correctly?

"The only page the middle button doesn't work on is the home page."

Is this the intended behavior? If so, why?

Oops, you're right, it IS only on the home page. Maybe I subconsciously realized that and forgot to add it o_O

Same for me - middle-clicking to open a new tab doesn't work on the Instructables home page, either (but does everywhere else). But I'm running IE8 on XP Pro (SP3)...
