How would it be refusing to open .exes but you are on the internet (Through a browser, which is a .exe)...?

Well this is a major problem. even if you have the fix to install, it wont work cause its an .EXE file. System restore could work. P.S. are you the only one that uses that computer,

o so you dont belive in helping anyone who looks at old fourms? or Do you not belive in bringing the dead back to life? or Do you not like rehashing the past? hmm hmmm well well

Hey, chill out. I'm not hatin'. Just saying, it's been months, and I think he's already fixed the problem. I personally have no problem with bumping dinosaur threads, just saying in case you didn't see the dates, this thread is kinda old and moldy. ;)

I'm just waiting for goodharts comment =P

None of them suggest what to do in my case, the error message

Error message.jpg

check your program settings, downgrade to xp

I dont wanna downgrade and then have it still not work, any other altrnatives?

you definatly wanna downgrade to XP.... or rather.... upgrade. Vista is like a virus disguised as an Operating System its way to buggy... come back to XP... it misses you :( I give a 99% guarentee you won't have the same problem if you downgrade and I'm so confident I'll give you my personal phone number if you do downgrade and it still dosen't work and I'll stay on the phone (long distance charged to me of course) until I figure it out. if you insist on Vista... I'm usless to you.... all I can suggest is format

Haha, this made me laugh. I thought i'd post what the error says. "This handle is invalid."

Can you give any more details? What type of program etc.. (a little more than .exe)

well, sims 2, half life, flash CS3 and a couple of things i downloaded.

riiight, I'm very sorry but Vista is totally alien to me (even after 2 days use)

Let's start with a stupid question : are you sure it's a .EXE ? Some default parameters may hide the actual extension of the file, and the files that seems to end by .EXE may actually ends with an other type of extension : .BAT, .VBS or something else (This is a trick sometimes used to spread some virus or worms). Also, maybe there is an anti-virus that blocks the execution of this exe ? Other question : Does it happens with all EXE or just with some EXE ?

All .exe, i cant install any programs that need me to open an .exe or anyhing i donwnload i cant open the .exe for it.
