My old bike could coast for miles Answered

my old bike could coast, for, well, i've only gone a mile, slight downhill, very slight. my new bike wont coast for a few feet, what possibly could be the problem?

. Probably the tires. On pavement, skinnier and harder tires have less rolling resistance.

so i should find tires like on my old bike and pump up my tires to 75psi?

. If you want to coast as far as possible. It's gonna be a rough ride and not worth a flip in the dirt, though.

. The "balloon" tires on a dirt bike help absorb a lot of shock (low pressure) and keep the tire on top of the dirt (wide footprint). A skinny tire will dig in.

. Looks like the Pacific Northwest to me. Possibly the Seattle area.
