Paintball Answered

Paintball... is it the best? Can it be improved? Any tips for beginners, (such as myself,) or long passed down tips for the expert? Anything about paintball should be typed here.

I would go with the 98 custom. You cant really beat it's price. -PKT

Paintball is a phase that 90% of all preteens such as yourself go through. It is designed to be a huge money drain and have little to no benefits aside from shooting your buddies.

Pre-teens aren't allowed to do it at most commercial paint-ball sites in the UK. You generally have to be 12 or 13 for insurance purposes.

(Once a year, I take thirty or so pupils out into the woods, and shoot them.)

I was 7 when I first went to a commercial site. I got shot twice (Bunkered) in the meat between thumb and index, and once in the funny bone. I cried...

I go to PEV's @ AG USA!. I have a pass that makes it 15 bucks for all day, a CO2 fill discount card, and I buy white box paint in bulk(Lasted three years without deforming!). I recommend renting for a day($30ish) and then deciding if you like it enough to invest in a marker, NOT A GUN! If you do, don't skimp on a sprawlmart marker. Get a used Tippmann for cheap, and it will last forever. I have a 98C with response, and a Spyder Emarker.

meh, stop acting like you know everything about people like us... yeah, sure, money drain, but it's fun, sooooo...

Aside from the percent (and probably the motive for it's design)...you can't deny that it's true. The only real benefit for the average player is the fun of shooting your friends.

Ok I will not sit and compare it to airsoft. I will merely say I know a fair few paintballers who have converted over to airsoft... However in general any running around shooting at people while getting shot at is all fun and games. Just remember your camo, drink plenty, dont cheat, listen to your marshalls and have fun.

Thanks for not pissin' on the rest of us. :) Also, I try to play paintball as much as possible, (as the closest arena is 1 hour away :( ) but airsoft is another one I play. Airsoft and paintball, both are fun! I suppose I like airsoft better though. Less costly. -PKT

ok, just wanted to throw my two cents in here. I'm in college, I play paintball when I can, and it isn't just something my buddies and I do to shoot at each other, it is something we do as a contest, mankind is inherently competitive, my step-father also plays when I'm in town, and immature is one thing I wouldn't call him. On the down side, he almost always wins.......he has special-ops training and I don't yet......so yeah >.> If you want to, try it out on the cheap with a rental, if you fall in love like I did, don't cheap out. get a Tippman or a higher end Spyder, everyone makes fun of them, but I've had my TLR for a couple of years now, and through proper maintenance, it's still kickin butts. One last tip, as the Army always says, take care of your equipment and it'll take care of you. I've seen too many markers ruined through improper care and use. be smart snd be safe

paintball is cool, but if you are on a budget (me) or don't like pain (my friends) then airsoft may be a better choice
