Referrers data Answered
I have what I believe is a bug, followed by a question, and a suggestion (or two).
First, the bug:
When viewing the stats on any of my Instructables, I see something like the attached picture, where there are blanks for some of the referrers. That can't be right... Either that or I'm getting referrals from the NSA...
I'm apparently not the only person with this issue, but I haven't seen an explanation for it. It occurs for me across multiple browsers and operating systems.
My question is why don't the number of referrers add up to my total views (e.g. 41+40+15+9+8+1 = 114, not 203)? Is this because the other 89 views are coming from inside Instructables?
My first suggestion is that the stats window could use a bit of explanation for people who aren't familiar with what referrals might mean. It would be nice to have mouse-over explanations or something. My other suggestion is that I would love more detailed stats information. It would be really neat to see how people are finding my Instructables internally to the site (e.g. was it a link or a search, and if it was a search, what were the search terms?). it would also be nice to be able to see precise referral links from external referrers.
Thanks for making this neat data available. I hope that the solution to this bug is quick and easy!
