Refining Gold Using Vinegar (Acetic Acid)? Answered

Though I've never refined gold, I've heard of gold refining using different acids. I've seen people use vinegar and salt to etch pcb boards. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to refine gold using vinegar so that I can remove it from ram sticks etc.

Gold does not react with acetic acid. The only common acid that gold reacts with is aqua regia, a mixture of hydrochloric acid(HCl) and nitric acid (HNO3.)

You need hydracloric acid and have to be ready to deal with the deadly off gassing of the acid and gold mix. Then you gotta be able to pull the gold from the acid. Not something you can do at home.
