TNKIT entry and FN SCAR H (Now with pictures) Answered

This is my TNKIT entry, an F1 based car. It has built-in suspension (not independent, but on the axle), and realistic features. The last pictures are of my new assault rifle, an FN SCAR replica. The stock is different because of the internal ram mechanism, and it has Ironman rails top and bottom, with strange new rails on the sides, which hold a bipod at the moment. An ironman mag adaption allows for extremely quick mag changing, with the release lever an inch from the trigger at the front of the trigger guard. The flip-up iron sights have been modified since these pictures, and the barrel (area with the bottom rail, not the false barrel at the end) has been shortened by 2 units, making the weapon more realistic and easier to use. Uses lots and lots of y clips and hinges, and requires about 6 cut white rods (can get away with 5). The EGLM fires a large projectlie using a push trigger behind the mag (in front of and below the handle). Also for your enjoyment; my MP5 from May.

The car is brilliant! You should put a lego guy in the chair or something!

I think the Lego guy may look a little small in comparison;  I may try a K'nex man if I ever rebuild.

In addition to making knex bricks that rip off lego, they also made some knex men that ripped off lego minifigures.  I have about 8 of those from Sawblade thrill ride.

I love the car. Scar looks pretty good.

Woah... Thats pretty sweet... That car... its... its... its incredible! Great work! The gun looks real nice too. Metallics make it that much better too :-D

Unfortunately its awesomeness doesn't save it from camera problems, which have led to me being disqualified from TNKIT. Thanks anyway though.

Yeah, because I hadn't noticed -_-. Keep it quiet though.

!

You got disqualified?

Goes off to have a word with Viccie...

Haven't heard for Viccie, but having quite a discussion with DJ. What a guy...

I don't understand what you mean about the discussion with DJ. Thanks anyway though; I think Viccie is blanking me and anyone who tries to argue my case. I haven't heard from him either.

Mkay. I just asked him once more - I'll let you know what he says. When I asked him before DJ responded saying it was unfair and rubbish like that, so we've had a bit of a chat.

If you hadn't been disqualified, you could have entered your FN SCAR as your R2 entry.

Really good, the car is amazing and so is both the guns, you should really post some of the things you make. Add some good guns to the rather decreasing amount of good knex instructables

I'll probably post the SCAR, the MP5 is long gone.

Good news then I just remade the MP5 and have already taken all the pics needed for instruction... mind if I post???

Go for it; my pin broke with 3 bands, even when superglued. Did you keep the rail for the pin?

i think the car is the best

Out of all the things here? I would say the SCAR is more functional, but I definitely spent the most time on the car.

have you taken the scar apart? because if you haven't can you show me a pic of the handle because I would like to try it on my scar because I'm trying to make my scar even better

No, I haven't. Still the handle is the worst part of it, it bends when you tilt the gun on it's side (though the gun is heavier than a K'sayer), the only good things about it are the realistic angle and the comfort.

can I have a pic because I think it would work well with my scar if I change it to fit and my scar is lighter than yours I think

Probably is, I'm posting it at some time but it will take a while, I have nowhere near enough green rods to build another one (and I have a lot of green rods)!

post the fn scar please!!!

the car is so cool

Unfortunately, I have been disqualified for being late :(.

You should have tried starting it when round 1 was actually announced.

I did. But I had trouble with posting it, and I was away for 4 weeks of the competition.

You still had an extra month with that. Surely you could fix it within a month?

Yes, but my entry took me 3 weeks building, tweaking, and debugging at the same time as coursework.

It looks like mine lol.

A little I suppose, but it's bigger and different in many ways.

some cameras have special batteries.... and some people don't use many so they don't buy many
