The Facepalm Award - What are your favorite comments and questions? Answered

Every once in a while, I'll get a comment that makes my brain lock up on an Instructable or an Answer that I've posted. When I tell RavingWife about some of these, she accuses me of making them up, or at least embellishing for effect. This leads me to believe that others might find these amusing, and may also have funny comments of their own to contribute.
In the spirit of fun, I hereby institute the Facepalm Award - to be given for comments posted on this site which unintentionally make us laugh, or at least stare in stunned disbelief.

I'll kick it off with a couple of nominees of my own:

1) On a question asking for cheat codes for a video game, I answered:
Wouldn't it be cool if there were a site out there dedicated to cheats and walkthroughs of video games? That would be AWESOME!!!

The Nominee:

Sure, because you're too busy doing important stuff like playing video games.....

I don't know if I find this amusing because of the serious time management issues indicated by the response, or because the OP gave my snarky comment a Best Answer.....

2) This one has been flagged and deleted, so I'll have to paraphrase. It was a response on a thread which had absolutely nothing to do with sexuality, dating, relationships or anything in that vein. No double entendres, no sly puns, no wink-wink, nudge-nudge of any kind. My post on that thread was totally innocuous as well.

The Nominee:
HI I JUST SIGNED UP FOR THIS A LITTLE WHILE AGO IVE BEEN LOOKING AROUND- PRETTY COOL STUFF. ARE YOU BISEXUAL?????

Uhhhh... what?

So, do you have any nominees of your own? Post 'em so we can all have a chuckle.

Nominees will not be officially judged by anyone. No points will be tallied, no winner will be selected, and any hypothetical winner which might have been selected would not have received any kind of prize anyway.

Someone actually asked Gorrilazmiko if he would marry her on the site.  And GM's what, 15?

And then there was one on a knexgun where the commenter said "I don't get how to shoot this".  Umm.. Pull the trigger?

Bonus points for GM! Rock on wit' your bad self!

As for the knex gun thing, uh... yeah. Just be glad that it wasn't a real gun. ;-p

Today I got accused of being a Bible-thumping Southern Baptist NeoConservative in the Answers forum. This is only funny if you know me, but for those who do know me, it's hysterically funny.

I see that purposeful punning doesn't "rate"  ;-)

Oh, I sprinkle (good and bad but mostly bad) puns around when I am in a jocular mood; and so I was just saying that none of them are every thought clever enough for threads like this one :-)   I was just teasing a bit.

Oh, OK. I get it now.
I've actually been focusing on comments that are unintentionally funny, although I do think the example Zaphod provided (of Kiteman's acerbic wit) is great. I want to be Kiteman when I grow up.
I do love a good pun, though. I love a bad pun even more. Back when I was in school, my friends and I would have impromptu pun wars on random themes all the time: "OK, the topic is.... livestock! GO!" or "The contents of the refrigerator! GO!" It was kind of like Iron Chef, except with more than two competitors, no panel of judges, and nobody ever wound up having to eat tripe-and-chipotle-flavored ice cream. So really, it was nothing at all like Iron Chef.
Might be a good "Just for Fun" thread, though...

yes,  that is an idea.

Just the other day, a friend posted on FB that he had to get out and take a walk in the woods, to clear his head.

Being I was going to be the first one to post to his comment, I wrote:

Hey nnnnnn !   Don't make your head too clear;   people will "see right through you!"    ;-)

I am not so good as to do it "on demenad" though, I have to be in the mood ;-)

Apparently not...
I wouldn't know, never had heart surgery. They didn't give you pain killers?

Oh yes,   but there is still a lot of discomfort and such.....took nearly a full month for my lungs to clear out all the fluid, etc.....it was NOT pleasant.

That's pretty good stuff. I had a feeling this was not the first time such a collection was attempted....
