Trim Circuit Board? Answered

Hey guys. I'm new to these forms so please bear with me. I'm looking to undertake this project:

 Snes bluetooth Controller Mod
https://www.instructables.com/id/Bluetooth-SNES-controllergamepad/

My goal is to be able to fit the keyboard into the Snes controller. My question is would you be able to cut off some of the unused keys on the bluetooth keyboard and still keep it functional?

Awesome. Thanks so much. I've ordered a few and I'll take a look once they come in.

I think you have to determine the way which switch is pressed. If each of the pads have a set of traces or circuit paths to the main connector, as long as you keep the traces to the working switches intact, you should be good by getting rid of the others. If the circuit depends on sensing the proportional resistance or if the switches are wired up in a way that the added resistance of the all additional length of the circuit traces between the switches determines which switch is pressed, you will have to compensate for the traces/switch cut out. Good luck.

Oh, and beware of double sided or multi layered circuit boards where you can have circuit traces on both sides of embedded within.
