Turn 17" LCD into a book reader Answered



Hey all !
I was thinking to turn and 17 ich LCD into an E reader ...... it would be conected by cable to a laptop that how i would display images on the display i tough of making the power on battery but i have AC povered monitor with fried inverters il hook some led-s to fix the backlight ut i need to know how to make the power board to supply the LCD with battery power .... i kinda bable here so if annyone can help me or ask me to explain annything i wrote ^^

that is why i want it to be battery powered one VGA cable is really not a problem if i can hold a striped LCD like a book it is far more enjoyable than holding a notebook in my lap and i can hold it vertically with no problem so it would feel like a book

if you press the reply button next to a post it replies directly to the person and sends them an email about it.

if you're going through all the trouble of having a VGA cable coming out of the thing, it's not really going to save you any trouble to not have the power cord coming out of it. adding any type of battery that would give you a usable time frame of power would add more weight than you'd expect to the thing.

i dunno, this just seems like a futile build (i know that's blasphemy here, but....)

they make wireless monitors that are batery powered, they also make tablet PCs. and, well they make E-readers too.

....why not just use the laptop to read the books? if you're having to run a video cable over to the monitor (as well as power) it kind of negates the usefulness
