You should see 2 yellow buttons next to the "View Instructables" button (see image below). Select the type you want, either "Download PDF" or "Download ePub".

In the example, I selected the "Easy Quick Breads" from the home page. It opens to a page where you must click on a yellow button that says: "Download the eBook". The page that opens is shown in the image below. At this point, you get to choose the type of file you want (PDF or ePub). The chart (below the buttons) is there to help you choose the right file type.

Let me know if you need further help.

If they aren't going to make ebooks available to free members, fine. But I spent 30 minutes trying to figure why the download ebook button doesn't work. This is TERRIBLE web design.

Fucntion and communication or go home.

I don't disagree with you. You shouldn't have to spend that long to figure out that its a feature that's unavailable to you. Perhaps you can make a new topic under the feedback section of the forums? Staff does look at the topics and comments.

Can you give me a link and/or a screenshot of what ebook your trying to download? and perhaps the version of browser you're using?

Somehow I'm going to have to see what's going on to figure out what the problem may be, or at least on how to help you further. ;-)

The "Simple Bots" eBook can be purchased and downloaded from the Instructables Store. Here's a link to the page. You need to click on the "Add to Cart" button and then click on the "checkout" button (top right of page). You will then be shown your purchase, the quantity and price in a chart. Click on the 'checkbox' for "I agree with the Terms and Conditions" and then click the "Proceed to Checkout" button. On the next page, you need to provide all of your contact information. Once completed, click on the "Continue to next step" button and you'll be asked for your payment info (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover, or Paypal). Once your payment has been received you will get access to the eBook.

You mean you have the file, but don't know how to read it?

I'm not sure what file type you have so....

For PDF files, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

For ePub files, you need Calibre.

Both are free, and work on your PC or Mac.

If you're trying to read the file with another device, then check with the chart on this page.

If you're still having problems, let me know.

So you didn't get a file or a link to a file from them after your purchase?
And you checked for attachments on the email?

If that's the case, then please, email Instructables (service@instructables.com)

Let them know that you ordered the eBook, and that you got a confirmation email, and would like to know if they are sending you a link to the eBook, or how you are suppose to get it. --- Make sure you include your full name, username and your order number (should be on the email you got). This will help them look up your purchase. (Just DON'T ever send credit card information by email.)

Since its a weekend, give them time to respond, but if you need any further help, please let me know.

Yes. Downloading eBooks is a Pro Member feature (unless the eBook is in the Instructables Store, and you're paying for it, then you don't need to be a Pro Member).
