And Tetra as in "four".

Presumably referring to PETN, aka pentaerythritol tetranitrate, a very powerful explosive.

Many high explosives have nitrite or nitrate groups, such as , or tri-nitro-toluene (TNT), or nitro-glycerin, aka glyceryl trinitrate.

If he was born a bit earlier, he would probably have been called Trinitrate, or just Nitro. ;-)

The first guy in the second picture looks very similar to Larry the mathematician from numbers.
