War of the Worlds of the World Answered

Yes, the title is correct. This site has collected cover art for printings of War of the Worlds from the past 110 years from around the world. It's a fascinating collection of artistic interpretations of H. G. Wells' classic book. Some of the aliens are menacing while others are cute and cuddly or look like a Disney character on acid. One lazy artist even put the USS Enterprise on the cover. WTF?

Cool - what a great collection!

Here's the one that I seem to remember best - the 1927 Amazing Stories cover by Frank R. Paul. (Not that I actually *remember* the 1927 issue of Amazing Stories, mind you - must have seen that image somewhere else...)
