What are the specs (maximum file size, number of pixels, etc.) for making your own digital patches to send people? Answered

(I'm sure this info is here on the site somewhere, but several searches haven't turned anything up.)

Thanks.

I'm not aware of any limits in size, Robot usually deals with that. It will look best if the image you use is square, otherwise Robot will crop bits off to make it fit the patch format.

as per google

  • Square and rounded images which render at 98 X 98 px
  • We recommend uploading an 800 X 800 px image
  • JPG, GIF, BMP or PNG (no animated GIFs)
  • Do not upload pictures containing celebrities, nudity, artwork or copyrighted images, as this violates our community guidelines (http://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines)

my icon that I have been using for a few years is as you see

Try and keep them vaguely square, and without too many fine details that would not be visible in the thumbnail.  Apart from that, go for it.

Below are the patches I am awarding for two separate photoshop challenges.

Mini challenge.

Sinkhole challenge.

Hi,

I think your parameters are not going to be a problem: if it doesn't load, then you'll know.
Like I say to people repeatedly for avatars, and Kiteman advises you here; keep it square.
(it's just a picture)

Thanks, L.

I'd give you, Kiteman, and Jayefuu all Best Answer; if it weren't that it doesn't work that way. :)
