What is it ? Do you know what this is??? Answered

My mums iron broke and she was going to throw it away but i took it apart and salvaged its innards i got: Some valves Varying gauges of wire Some plastic tubing More valves and a sort of sensor that tells if it is upright or flat, does anyone know exactly what it is or what i could use it for? Thanks :D

I'd say that's pretty close. It's probably used for motion-detection. Sort of a single-bit (on-off) mechanical accelerometer. When the iron is moved, the switch triggers a timing circuit that keeps the relay closed.

No motion for a minute or two? The relay opens and the heater coil is shut down....
