What kind of motion sensor? Answered

http://www.powerdecal.com/Page/13/ProductInfo

Most motion sensors detect external movements to trigger. It seems the one on this device triggers when the car moves rather than when it detects movement from outside objects.

I don't think it's a gps module. Any thoughts?

A piezo vibration motion sensor needs no amp feeds direct to a micro input.

even a simple tilt switch will detect movement - (a ball bearing in a tube - slightly inclined to keep ball at one end - at the other end is a pair of contacts that are bridged by the ball when it rolled that way.

If it senses car motion, its a vibration sensor - mechanical or piezo accelerometer/gyro.

If it senses movement around the car - it's capacitive. It charges the car with a certain changing voltage, and uses the car as an antenna to transmit and receive crude electro-magnetic signals. When the reflections nearby change, something has moved in the vicinity of the car.

A pendulum, maybe something similar to those in self winding watches.
