Where can I find a Fresnel Lens in LA? Answered

I am trying to find a Fresnel lens for making a cheap DIY projector, and I checked the websites for a few stores nearby and haven't had any luck. Does anyone know of any stores like Lowes or Home Depot that carry fresnel lenses?

Books stores usually have them, in various sizes, credit card, bookmark, photograph, full page. TV repair shops, if you are looking for really big ones, free. The old rear projection TVs are going away. Some schools are dumping the old overhead projectors, might call around and see if any want to be relieved of some clutter. http://www.sciplus.com/search.cfm?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=search&utm_content=cf&utm_campaign=celsearchtest&formfield1234567891=0&formfield1234567892=&formfield1234567894=&term=Fresnel&btnHand.x=26&btnHand.y=5

They get new stuff often, so worth checking occasionally...

I've seen them at places like Staples and office supply stores. They are 8 1/2 x 11 and made to fit in a three ring binder. They cost couple of dollars as I recall.

Did you try Fry's (don't bother asking the brain-dead staff, just wander around the old-school components aisles)? Pep Boys should have them too -- there are adhesive ones for the back windows of vans.
