Why was my 'Ible rejected from the "Three Ingredient" contest? Answered

Why was my "Retractable Helping Hands (My Mini Soldering Helper!)" rejected form the "Three Ingredient" contest?
The whole project uses only 3 ingredients:
1. An Old IKEA Lamp
2. Mini C-Clamp
3. Epoxy Putty

For questions about why a project may have been rejected from a contest, it's always best to email service@instructables.com.

Contests are moderated by real, fallible humans, so occasionally we make mistakes. Gasp! ;)

I've gone ahead and added your project to the Three Ingredient Challenge.

(For this challenge, ingredients or components are the "three" items we're looking for. Tools used to manipulate said three ingredients or components are not part of the equation.)

So I still don't understand, Does it have to be 3 ingredients including the tools?

Or can I use as many tools that I want?

You can use whatever tools you want.

The only thing that matters is that the finished thing you make needs to consist of only three ingredients or components.

Let's just hope we never get a 5 ingredient contest, that would make counting soooo much harder LOL

Maybe because you used nine things?

[1] A Flexible (IKEA) Lamp
[2] Teeny Tiny C-Clamp- Buy a 2" C-Clamp here for $3, Or make your own here(My grandpa had these and gave me them, So I got them for free)
[3] Epoxy Putty ([4]Vinyl Gloves and a [5]Utility Knife are recommended to use with Epoxy Putty)
Note: You can always use a small, cheap spring clamp if you want. It might look like a small version of this
Tools:
[6] Wire Cutters
[7] Needle-Nose Pliers
[4] Vinyl Gloves
[8] Small Hammer (optional)
[9] Flat Screwdriver (optional)

From what I know, Those are counted as tools...

For example: I made a cake using 1. water, 2. sugar, 3. flour

I used a Measuring Cup, Spoon, Oven, Cookbook, And a lot more, But they wouldn't count, Right?

I was just guessing, since the rules say "three things".

Probably best to drop an email to service@instructables.com for clarification.

I would not like your cake very much...
But for sure the rest would count, just make the cake by mixing in thin air and baking under the sun.

I guess it depends on how you look at it, but maybe whoever removed it will answer you here...

Air counts: Nitrogen, Oxygen, CO2, and more...

The sun counts too...
