Wireless security links that talk to an arduino Answered

Has anyone been able to connect a wireless receiver/transmitter to an arduino?  i would like to hook up something along the lines of a http://www.napcosecurity.com/images/manuals/GEM-RECV_WI751C.03_INST.pdf to my arduino and have that talk to my pc and whatnot.  the Arduino <=> pc link is easy, its the receiver<=> Arduino communication that i'm concerned with...

It looks like a serial protocol. What do you want to do on the Arduino ?

Where does it say serial? It would be nice, but I can't just make that assumption based on the 3 wire.

Its serial. How the heck else can it transfer the data it has to down the wires it has ???

I bet you its either RS232 levels (+/-12V) or somewhere close. Beg/borrow/steal an oscilloscope to find out.

Then I have to build my own sensors. This system has window and motion sensors that last for years on one better.

What are you gaining by plugging the receiver into the Arduino and then having the Arduino talk to the computer? Is there something that the Arduino can do that the computer can't? Why not just attach the receiver directly to the computer? Let me know if I'm missing something here.

That's not the point. The point is that I wouldn't even know if it could talk to a pc until I figure out the protocol.
