World's Largest Snow Sculpture Answered

Living in the bay area in California, I have access to now in Lake Tahoe, but we get no fluffy stuff to look out at in the morning. I love being able to wear light jackets in January, but sometimes I miss getting all bundled up and sledding or making Easter Island style snowguys on the front yard.

So seeing this massive snow sculpture from China makes me want to just hit the slopes for a few weeks.

Workers sculpt "Romantic Feelings", which will debut at the 20th International Snow Sculpture Art Expo in Harbin of Heilongjiang Province, China, on Dec 17. "Romantic Feelings", measuring approximately 115 feet high and 656 feet long, is designed to be the world's largest snow sculpture. Hmm... interesting how the two huge human sculptures are very caucasian looking...

Coloring the snow might have been a difficult accomplishment though don't you think :-)

Insane, that first picture looks awesome.

That really is great.

BTW: you wrote: I love being able to wear light jackets in January

But this year, so far this month, I haven't even needed a jacket (normally we have a few inches of snow by now). Freaky weather we have been having.

That's bizarre. We just go slammed by a big storm, which really isn't that big, mostly cold and wet.

Yeah I heard. The inversion is really very bizarre. I have gone deer hunting (years ago) in a short sleeved shirt already in mid-Dec but this is January. Maybe we will have to move Christmas to Feb to get a "white one" again, eh ?

Wow. You truly can do amazing things with amazing speed under a grindingly oppressive authoritative government. That is beautiful.

It's true. There's also some province in China that is dedicated to setting ridiculous new records just because they can always call on lots of people at the same time.

At least the "Romantic Feelings" theme is far removed from the "art" of the cultural revolution....
