Can I use a 9.6V Ni-MH 650mAh battery with a arduino? Answered

Hi, I have a few batterys from a plane that don't really have a use for anymore. I have been trying to build a rc car but AA's don't supply enough current. I was wonderig if I could use these batterys directley with a duemilanove throug the onboard voltage regulator. They are 9.6V and 650mAh. Thanks for any help. Please leave a commnt.
BTW I don't want to draw this much current from the arduino I just want to uer the arduino to cotrol a mosfet. Then run the motor off the battery directley.
