Whatever ........happy new year everybody :)

Just reversed the cipher.
ZEBRA = 1_ _ _ 26
   and
(0x040) = sp  in  OCTAL

A

daredevil499, you sent me a pm saying that I was right and TOLD me to give the answer so you could give me the best answer. Did you forget?

You know, a numeric cipher like this is much more effective when you don't just number the letters in order from A=1 to Z=26. Try mixing them up a little.

In shouting ASCII (missing characters inserted as necessary):

0x54 0x48 0x49 0x53 (0x20) 0x49 0x53 (0x20) 0x43 0x4F 0x52 0x52 0x45 0x43 0x54

Leaving out my thumbs I am left with only eight fingers........

0x102 0x117 0x124 0x110 (0x040)
0x101 0x122 0x105 (0x040)
0x123 0x111 0x115 0x120 0x114 0x105

Ack. I don't parse Unicode directly, unfortunately (being an ignorant American :-). Let's see if Wikipedia can help me...Yes, yes it can :-)

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Unicode/Character_reference/0000-0FFF

Here we go... ĂėĤĐ@āĢą@ģđĕĠĔą

Well, I haven't any idea what that means. The diacriticals are pretty cool, though. Who knew you could put a cedilla onto 'G'!

Happy New Year

I freely admit, I can't figure it this year

Ah, you actually used a cipher, eh? My bad :-)

Urgh?!? That's fascinating. I copy-and-pasted directly from the displayed characters on the Wikibooks page I cited. The characters displayed properly while I was editing the comment, and even after I hit [Post], but now they're showing as non-displayable Unicode boxes. Oh, well. Unintelligible in any event.

I love pink ponies and fish. I think that might be wrong....
