Ebay.
Thrift shops.
Charity shops.
Craigs list.
Friends & family.
Put a card up in a supermarket display.

Oh, and it's just Lego, even if it's plural.

Like sheep.

Moose, fish, deer, cattle, salmon, victuals, tweezers, vespers, scissors, oats, tongs, dregs, trousers, pinchers, bellows, snuffers, shears, measles, mumps, coffee, gold, silver, wheat, corn, molasses, copper, sugar, cotton, mathematics, physics, knickers, offspring, species, furniture!

Man I love the internets... ;D

Oh and "Lego Lot" search on ebay usually yields some random guy selling 10-50 pounds of Lego for pretty cheap.

check your local stores
get them from people
yardsales

Check out BrickLink, it's a LEGO marketplace but I haven't price shopped there in a while so I'm not sure how the prices compare.

We used to get them at garage sales. Check your local paper and cruise them Saturday morning.
