i have tried to download several e-books and other files when it downloads the pictures are fine but the text is unreadable. what i'm i doing wrong?

Could you please give a link to the e-books you're having trouble with. I'm not sure if the ones I'm searching for are the same as the ones you're seeing.

Also, could you please post a screenshot of what you're seeing. It could help a lot.

Thank you!

the book i am trying to print is how to make a strum stick . i down loaded it to pdf and tried to print it. the pictures came out fine but after the first few pages the text turned into gibrish instead of english i don't know what i did wrong i am not real comp literate. and probrable did something wrong but i really don't understand screen shot i don't know how to do that the text reads right on the screen but prints out wrong. your help would be appreciated.

I'm at a loss here, except maybe your printer's software is somehow out of date? I have a feeling that some printers don't print an image of what is sent to them, but instead take the codes sent and then turn them into pages (do you see what I mean?).

Maybe the font of the PDFs is missing from your printer?

I wonder if you could take a photo of the printed pages (just lay them out side-by-side at the point they go strange) - maybe HQ will be able to work something out from that?

I'm going to try to print a copy at work tomorrow. This sounds really strange though. I want to blame your printer, but that doesn't make sense to me. If it displays correctly on your screen, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. Also, if it displays correctly on your screen it should print the exact same. Do you know what steps it starts to get the weird lettering? Could you just try printing that page and see if it still does it? (By that, when you click print and get the print dialogue up, there should be a checkbox that says "pages 1-24" or however many pages it is. Check the one you tried to print, figure out what page started to go greek, and just print that one page.)

If that still doesn't work, I'm a bit dumbfounded. I'll ask around the office tomorrow though, and see if anyone else has any ideas.

What format are you trying to download? PDF or epub?

pdf it seems to start off ok but then the words just get all crazy they don't mean anything

Let me get this straight - it looks like you have successfully downloaded the book, and the first pages are in English but later pages are gibberish?

See Stumpchunkman's post, but it would also help, I think, to upload the pdf to your topic (pretend it's an image).

Hey Kiteman, I'm not sure how much you know about printing, but anything you might be able to add to the thread I started would be appreciated.
