I've never been able to put a scapebar back on successfully, so I can't really help in that regard. I'd just like to know how much effort it took to type all that with no spacebar. I know I nearly went insane the time the comma and the carriage return went missing. Turned the whole house upside down looking for them. I can only imagine not having a spacebar.

Was there a small metal bar attached to it ?? if there was this needs to go back or it will not return, well unless you hit it right in the center which while your typing you won't do.. Simply clip the bar back into the tracks on the back of the key and there should be two little clips that it sits in and then just push it back down, and you should not have to push to hard, if you do some thing is wrong lift it up and check. And somw keyboards have small springs to return the space bar and thses need to go back in there hole..... Out of all the keys, space bars are the worst key to fix on a keyboard....

Make sure you press hard directly over the bits where the keys snap on (the space may have two of these), otherwise the key may bend and not snap back on properly. Failing that, superglue and make sure you align it right :)

Press harder on them to push them back down. I've had the same thing happen, and they're just not on correctly.

Have you tried popping them back in? That tends to work pretty well, most keys are designed to come off for cleaning etc. they pop back in...
