how to color oil used in name on rice? Answered

hi,

Does anyone know how to color oil used on name on rice jewelry. I wanted to know because i wanted to try to make colored oil. I want the colored oil which will not dye the rice. Thanks!

Any dye or colorant that you add to the oil will dye the rice.

What you can do is coat the rice grain with a clear resin to seal it. Then when its dried you can add it to the dyed oil and it will remain its natural color.

Hope that helps.

@canucksgirl- Someone sell colored oil in ebay, that oil will also dye the rice? I wanted to make my own colored oil, Thanks anyway!!! :)

I don't think you understood what I meant.

Take ANY oil + ANY dye = You made colored oil.

PROBLEM: If you add rice to colored oil = rice will change color.

SOLUTION: Cover rice with clear resin. (To seal it).

WHY? Colored oil will NOT dye rice IF rice is sealed with clear resin.

Does that make more sense? :-)

Never seen this have you got a link?

here's the link of how to make name on rice. https://www.instructables.com/id/writing-your-name-on-rice-grain-and-get-a-cool-key/

Reread the instructable -

The oil is in the tub to preserve the grain of rice, the name is done in Acrylic paint.

I think s/he wants to tint the oil so it's not just clear...
