making a custom balloon Answered

Hi,

I need to make a custom shaped balloon with openings in it, I have watched some videos no how balloons are made, I was wondering if I can make an acceptable mold for the balloon using aluminum foil? and what kind of latex I should purchase for this purpose... any suggestions??? Thanks a million in advance...

Any creases or sharp corners in your mold will create weak spots in your balloon, because there will be thin patches or uneven tension with thick patches, so I would avoid foil as the mold. Sculpt one from clay or play-do, carefully smoothed down,

I was actually thinking of doing a clay one as a base for the aluminum foil... then I would smooth the aluminum foil enough to make it usable... but if I didn't use metal, do you think I will be able to make the latex attach to the mold? there was something about giving the mold an electrostatic charge so that it would attract the latex.... do yolu have any idea where I can get some balloon suitable latex???

Sorry, all I would be doing is googling for you. That would be better if you did your own searches, based on your location and funds.
