# one motor shaft connected to a dynamo and dynamo power we can used to rotate that same motor? it is possible or not?why? Answered

one 12v dc motor connected with a battery and its shaft is connected to a dynamo,by using  the dynamo power we used to charge the battery and we can able to continue the process with out charging the battery using external power?why?

Because 1st law of thermodynamics. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, and due to entropy or something, nothing can be 100% efficient. Every conversion causes energy loss, seen as ohmic or resistive losses in electronics or friction in mechanical systems.

Perpetual motion is impossible!!!!!

I actually reported to Bill Lear about an inventor who came to Stead Nevada with his running board prototype where he put alternators on all four wheels to charge a battery that ran a DC motor in place of the IC engine and drive the rear wheels.

The interesting thing was that the contraption traveled further when the alternators were electrically disconnected !!

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE !!

Because the dynamo wastes 20% of the shaft energy in converting it to electrical energy and then, Because the electric motor wastes 12% of the dynamo electrical energy as heat converting only 88% to output shaft energy.

This is called EFFICIENCY less then 100% or less then unity...

Much of the energy loss is in heat, friction. you need to add energy to overcome that. The other area of loss is in the magnetic fields. And another place where energy is lost is the electrons moving in the wires and making yet more heat.

A bucket with holes in it will not stay full.

the losses in the generator and motor will far exceed the provided voltage.

The result your battery wont charge and the system will run down.

It is impossible to get something for nothing in nature. A simplistic statement that sums up a whole lot of physics.
