problems with the new instructable editor Answered

well, i was using the new instructable editor when i found out that every time it saves it makes a new instructable. i clicked on my name to go and edit it and i found about 10 of the same instructable all at different points when the system decided to save. just thought i would point this out so someone can fix it :-)

The bug with multiple saves has been fixed. Please let me know if anyone still sees this! Deleting the extras should be no different than deleting any other instructable but if anyone has trouble with this either reply here or PM me and I'll take care of it.

After a "save", when attempting to leave the page, I am alerted that I will loose the newly updated page if I don't "save" beforehand. No amount of saving seems to alter this.

This is also fixed now - the change was all ready to go yesterday, but just didn't get into the release due to a timing miscommunication.

That's firefox talking. No worries, it's safe to navigate elsewhere.

hmm. ya, i got that to. it might just be that the system is saving for you, and the system wants you to save on your own.

hmm, thats odd. i guess it's just best to stay with the old editor until these bugs are fixed.

Darn, I really thought we'd fixed that one... OK noted. It is only a problem with the alert message; your Instructable HAS been saved so it's safe, even though it feels dangerous, to click OK and leave the page.

after the third try, I figured it was do or die, and looking back after I left showed me it had saved it. Thanks for the reassurance. :-)

This happened to me once during my 'Ible for the pie contest. I was so confused... Doesn't happen normally though.

thank you. normally it would not be to big of a problem but as it seems you can only have up to 10 unpublished instructables, and when you get 11 the first one gets deleted, or rather lost in the programing. i don't know were they might go but i have about 5 unpublished instructable before the 8 of the newest one were made, and only 2 of the old ones are still visible by me. i have a link to one of them some where, so i will see it if is still active... yep, it's still there. so it just got lost in the programing some were.

You have discovered a bug. You're allowed any number of unpublished instructables, but as you noticed, at more than 10, you can't get to the older ones. I've put this on the FIX list. Good for you, noticing that.
