what should I do with 20 1-inch diameter steel balls? Answered

my brother recently gave me 20 1 inch diameter steel balls that he was trying to use to cool down coffee without watering it down (in hindsight, aluminum has a much higher heat density, but that's beside the point). I've had them laying around for a while now, and apart from a big newton's cradle or maybe a huge marble machine, I can't think of anything to do with them. ideas?

build a marble machine.  Where these would work better than marbles is that since they are conductive you could install contacts on the track to switch on lights or sound as they pass.

I don't have any suggestions other than the related articles on the right...
One thing to remember is that aluminum has a higher specific heat capacity per kilogram than steel (almost double), steel is significantly more dense, and thus has more mass per cubic volume, and thus higher total energy density per volume. (by a factor of about 1.6)
