Use a Xbox 360 Power Supply to Power a Amplifier
Intro: Use a Xbox 360 Power Supply to Power a Amplifier
i was looking around for a wall power supply to use for my car amp to use in my house, but all of the other 12 volt power supplies either didnt have anough watts, or said they were 12v when the multimeter said 14v, or both. so i screwed around with the xbox power supply becuase it was like 150 watts. The way i tricked it into thinking the xbox was on, was i took a peice of wire and connected the two wide pins that are on the bottom of the plug in together, not the middle. As showed in the picture. Then the six pins that are alike, the top pin is negative, and the bottom right pin is positive. As showed in the picture.
NOTE: is you wire the pins wrong itll turn the power brick led will turn red, all you have to do to restart it is unplug it intil the led tunrs off, Done.

- Disclaimer: This isn't meant to mean voltage doesn't matter. I hope nobody reads this and decides to wire their amp directly into mains voltage.
