Introduction: Another Webcam Microscope

Microscope from HAMA AC-150 webcam.

Materials:

  • Webcam HAMA AC-150
  • 300x95mm 3-4mm plywood or plexiglass
  • 70x150mm 2mm plexiglass.
  • 3 pcs. - M6 50mm screw
  • 3 pcs. - M6 20mm screw
  • 6 pcs. - M6 bolt
  • 6 pcs. - M3 15mm screw
  • 1 pcs. - M3 20mm screw
  • 8 pcs. - M3 bolt
  • Some wire

Step 1: Remove and Turn Around the Lens

Remove and turn around the lens. For some cameras, it's possible to do so by cutting some plastic and screwing. For other models just by using glue.

Step 2: Remove LEDs and Ad Wire.

For transparent object, we will need light from another side of object so I removed LED and made some wires to be able to put LED in different place.

Step 3: Assemble Housing

Cut housing with laser cutter using attached outline.

Step 4: Assemble Legs and Height Adjustment Screws

Put M6 50mm screws for legs, and M6 20mm screws for height adjustment.

Step 5: Add Some Rubber

Add some rubber for maintaining tension between two plates. I used old bicycle tire for that.

Step 6: Assemble Upper Plate

Assemble upper plate and LED holder screw.

Step 7: Add Glass and LED

Add glass and LED. For this camera model, LED brightness is adjusted by turning the wheel on the USB cable.

That's it put some object between glass and enjoy! :)
