Introduction: Collage Dress

Inspired by the woods and the farm landscape where I was spending the summer, I set out to build an asymettrical dress that could be worn by someone like me (Curvy figure)...wanting to utilize irregular cutout shapes and reveal the body in a slightly atypical way.

Beginning with a nude stretch fabric, I built a sleeveless under-dress, draping on a dressform.  Next the fun began...  using bamboo jersey knits in white, green, and purple, I cut randomly shaped pieces of fabric and draped them (on the form) on top of the nude stretch dress.  This happened in several layers, and with the use of many many many pins.  Thousands.  I did this in chunks to keep it managable.  While the draping of the pieces happened pretty organically based on the pieces I had already cut, I did have a few ideas surrounding the
