This online tutorial explains how to create your own piece of folded book art.

In this online class you'll learn how to create a small butterfly in the pages of a book.

Supplies

  • Hardcover book with a minimum page number of at least 120
    • More pages is not a problem
  • Pencil
  • Metric ruler

Step 1: Marking the Pages

First you need to mark the pages according to the pattern.

Per page you need to place two marks, which will be folded in the next step.

The exact spots of the marks will be mentioned in the tutorial video. You can always pause the video after the new marks appear, this way you can always keep up with the video.

Now please place all the markings from the video before entering the next step.

Step 2: Folding the Pages

Now you've finished placing all the marks from the pattern, you're ready to start folding.

Check the video tutorial to see the exact way of folding.

Start folding on the first marked page. Fold each marked page twice, try to keep the folds at 90 degrees or as closely to it as possible to get the best looking result.
